Director Maruthi Clarifies About His 'Boothu' Films

One director is known popularizing the use of 'boothu' in movies and he is minting crores with that. He is none other than Maruthi. The other day he took to stage to condemn people who are calling his movies as 'boothu' flicks. 

'I'm not making something alien. Boothu is part and parcel of our youths, from students to software engineers', says Maruthi, defending the kind of movies he is making. 'Ee Rojullo, Bus Stop and Romance became huge hits because youths liked it. Don't call them boothu movies, but call them youth movies', he adds. Generally we see lot of b-grade movie makers from Mallu land, showing all those indecent and adult stuff on silver screen, before actually claiming themselves as holy people. After two hours of showing sleazy stuff, b-grade Malayalam movie makers say that one should not do like what is shown in the movie. Is Maruthi any different from that?

Well, Maruthi has defended quite well and maybe he should try hand in politics for his intelligence. But in reality, his movies are simply spoilers for pure minds, and that Boothu he is instilling is like a position that could affect youths for a long time, say critics. We have to see how his upcoming moves like 'Kotha Janta' are going to be.
