Story:
Story begins with introduction of Mallika (Charmi) as a high class call girl happy with the profession of satisfying the customers for huge pay. Her contacts range from software engineers to doctors and even police. Mallika’s life takes a turn with a rash car accident to budding lyricist Lalith (Rahul).
Felt pity, Mallika admits Lalith into hospital where he loses eye sight and should undergo eye transplantation. Once Mallika starts taking care off Lalith, she slowly gets attracted towards his literature and thoughts. One fine day, Mallika begins to read the diary of Lalith where in his love story with budding singer Swathi (Saranya) is written in detail. How Mallika helps Lalith and Swathi to unite is the rest.
Performances:
Pre release Charmee's performance was much talked about. However except in the end and beginning of the film, Charmee was present no where in the film. She is ok in her role as she made conscious attempt to bring different shades. She was glamorous and later when she tried to be different she looked aged.
Rahul didnot have much scope for performance as he played the role of a blind man. Otherwise he should hone up his acting skills. Saranya looked quite aged opposite hero.
Rao Ramesh, Chandra Mohan, Ravi Babu and others roles are quite minimal. Tagubotu Ramesh's comedy worked out in the film.
Plus Points:
Dialogues

Minus Points:

Direction and Script
Technical Departments:
The director, who has scripted the film himself with the help of his PRO Pulagam C. Narayana, has focused on a handful of characters here. No problems about that if it has been told well. The pre climax is narrated during the first half and then, the incidents that led to it all are being told as flashbacks. With incidents that are far from convincing and a script, which is not so great by any means, the film moves ahead in highly predictable lines.
There are some sequences aimed to tickle the funny bone, but the attempts falls flat. MGK Praveen and S.R.Posam could have made this a musical treat. Even meaningful lyrics are wasted in the film. Cinematography by Praveen K Bangari is very amateurish. Editing by V. Nagireddy could have been crispier. Movie can be easily cut short by half an hour in the first half. At almost two hours and forty minutes, the film never seems to end. Production values from Touring Talkies banner are very poor.
Analysis:
Chandu of 10th Class fame selected a routine story. Though for the first few minutes he created interest, once Charmee commits accident, the entire film went for a toss. First half tried to introduce various characters while the second half drifted wayward. One couldn't make head or tail of what director was telling. Editing went for a miss in the second half.
Slow first half and clueless second half killed the film. This made many look for the exit doors even before the climax. Even the climax is routine. Some of the dialogues by debutant Pulagam C. Narayana attracted all.
Final Word: Overalla Prema Oka Maikam is a messy tale that can surprise you with its hollowness. An amateurish effort at best, this film is unintentionally funny at times and lacks much fizz. People who go to movie to enjoy Charmee will be in for a shock!
