For the first time in history, hero Suriya became a playback singer and this happened for the coffee brand that has sponsored Dawn. Who convinced a reluctant Suriya would fit the bill? It is none other than the singer-turned-composer Karthik behind many of the songs Chartbuster and director Rajiv Menon who is working for the new commercial for Sunrise.
The video making the song has gone viral on the web. Karthik and Suriya received Rajiv Menon as soon as it reaches the recording studio. After formal greetings, reports that the actor who will sing for business and it will make a big difference. Initially Suriya was surprised and conveyed that he just came for dubbing, not to sing. Rajiv Menon Karthik tried to convince him saying he could not sing like he lost his voice and only he could replace him now that he is a romantic at heart. Suriya, meanwhile, said it was not even a bathroom singer and had never tasted anything like singing in your life. The composer and director, however, insisted that he give him a chance to say that there's a first thing.
Finally, Suriya decided to give it a try and got into the studio. At first it seemed very tense and could not even sing a few lines. Karthik and Rajiv Menon helped him get into the mood of the song and the actor delivered his best after two or three doses. Certainly a lot of composers insist that Suriya should sing at least one song for them after hearing his magical voice.
