Telangana issue: No impact on Toofan Business!

Despite the ongoing intense agitations in the state, Distributors have competed to acquire the theatrical right and paid the best price they could for 'Toofan'.

As of now, Exhibitors in Seemandhra are reluctant to screen the films fearing attacks from agitators and they were even considering the option of shutting down the theatres for the entire first week of September as they weren't even able to recover maintenance charges due to the lack of big releases. On the other, Osmania JAC is planning to stall the release of 'Toofan in the Telangana region as Chiru went on record to claim he is a Samaikyavadi who is fighting for Union Territory status to Hyderabad.

Under these circumstances, 'Toofan' is able to do an impressive pre-release business and this is surely a good sign. The star power of Ram Charan and his impeccable track record have made him a hot favorite in the film business and so there is always a heavy rush to acquire the rights of his films. Mega Powerstar is just unstoppable!

Toofan Pre-Release Theatrical Business (AP alone):

Nizam - Rs 11 crore; Ceded - Rs 7 crore (Shanta Films); Vizag - Rs 3.75 crore (Sri Venkateswara - Dil Raju); Guntur - Rs 3.1 crore (Shanta Films); East Godavari - Rs 2.6 crore (Anu Sri Films; West Godavari - Rs 2.4 crore (Usha Films); Krishna - Rs 2.4 crore (Alankar Prasad); Nellore - Rs 1.75 crore (Crown Movies).
