Two Telugu filmmakers are have been nominated by Film Federation of India to be part of the 12-member jury that will select India's entry at Academy awards in best foreign film category. Director N Shankar (Jai Bolo Telangana, Jayam Manadera fame) and producer-director CV Reddy (Nara Rohit's Okkadine) are the two Telugu filmmakers who have been placed in the list.

And the two Telugu films in Oscar race this year is Tanikella Bharani's directorial debut Midhunam and JK Bharavi's maiden directorial Sri Jagadguru Adi Shankara. Interestingly, both films are directed by writers who debuted into direction with these films. The Film Federation of India is already flooded with entries. They have already received 8 nominations and many more to come. The 5-day screening of 15 shortlisted films will take place in Hyderabad from September 17 to 22. The screening will be under jurisdiction of the 12-member jury headed by Supran Sen of FFI. The jury also has legends like Gautam Ghosh and Bharatiraja.
It may be recalled that SS Rajamouli's graphical extravaganza Eega has closely lost to Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Barfi last year. Let's hope Telugu films shine this year. We hear, SPB-Lakshmi starrer Midhunam has an edge.
