Ahead of his 90th birthday Friday, acting legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who has been in the industry for over seven decades, says Indian cinema is yet to find a place amid its world counterparts and disappoints him. He says that we need to make films that will place Indian cinema on a global platform.
ANR says that besides our goal of making commercial films, we should also look at making films that will honor us as country producing maximum number of films in the world. What is the point of making thousands of films in a year when the quality of 90 percent of these films are bad.
As Indian cinema celebrates centenary year, ANR says he wants better films from Indian. Films that will place our industry on the world map. We also hope for the same, don’t we?
