Badminton sensation Jwala Gutta is back in news for all the wrong reasons. Badminton Association of India (BAI) has served show cause notices to the Hyderabadi player for causing delay in the Indian Badminton League (IBL) match between Banga Beats and Krish Delhi Smashers on August 25th at Bangalore.
Apparently, Jwala Gutta who plays for Delhi franchise had a serious argument with the organizers on that day and it resulted in the delay in start of the match by half-an-hour. She was upset knowing Banga Beats Hong Kong player Hu Yun has been replaced with Denmark player Jan O Jorgensen in the last minute. After serious exchange of words between Jwala and Organizers, Banga Beats has decided not to field Jan O Jorgensen. These developments have led to the delay of start and BAI took a serious note of it.
A report submitted by referee says, Jwala was prime reason for the delay and she even used offensive language with the Governing Council members.
BAI's disciplinary committee served the notices to Jwala Gutta on September 3rd and was asked to offer her explanation within 14 days. BAI even asked the Indian Badminton League's (IBL) governing council to investigate the August 25th incident by appointing a retired High Court judge. Officials were planning to impose ban on Jwala after receiving her explanation on the issue.
