Tamil star Karthi who recently graced an event organized by the Telugus in Chennai made an attempt to prove he has been having good relations with Telugus since childhood.
Karthi even revealed that Mahesh Babu is his childhood friend. "Telugu isn't new for me. I 'm born and brought up in T Nagar itself. I feel Thyagaraya Nagar (T Nagar, Chennai) should be named as Telugu Nagar. Such is the density of Telugu people here. We have known Paruchuri Brothers for a very long time. Mahesh Babu is my schoolmate. He used come to me at 4 am for taking my Maths notes. Since childhood, I have been surrounded by Telugu atmosphere in some way or the other," comments the actor.
A lot of Tamil actors might have tested their luck in Tollywood with their dubbed flicks but only few of them managed to create a market of their own here. Rajinikanth (Rs 30 crore), Kamal Haasan (Rs 10-15 crore), Suriya (Rs 12-16 crore) and Karthi (Rs 9-11 crore) enjoys a good following in AP. Karthi should be commended for kind of sincerity shown in learning Telugu very soon and this aspect worked in his favour.
