In the wake of agitations all over the state, Noted Actor Mohan Babu appealed to the AP Film Chamber and Producer's Council to postpone the celebrations of 100 Years of Indian Cinema as its not appropriate to celebrate when people of different walks of life were on the roads.
"We have known about the developments post July 30th. Both Telangana and Seemandhra are like two eyes for us. Celebrating at this time would hurt sentiments of people. As boycotting the celebrations isn't a good idea, I request the Film Chamber and Producer's Council to discuss with the other Film Industries on the idea of postponing the event," said the actor in his letter to Chamber.
Indian Cinema reached its 100th year in 2013. As a result, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce has decided to celebrate the achievement for four days (September 21st-24th). Actors and Technicians from all the Southern languages will be participating in the celebrations.
