Rajinikanth fans have been waiting a long while to see the Superstar back on screen. Since the release of his last film Endhiran (Robot) in 2010, the actor has only appeared fleetingly in RA.One, a Lungi dance tribute in Chennai Express, a remake of Thillu Mullu among other short appearances. Finally, it has been announced that Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan will be released in December. Although a date has not been declared yet, it is highly likely that the film will be released on the twelfth of December on the occasion of Superstar’s birthday.

On this occasion, Rajinikanth’s daughter and the director of the film, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin has said that it has always been her aim to immortalise her father and bring back the legendary super star in a role he has never seen or done before.

The trailer of the film which had been released on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi day has already gone viral in the short time of mere twenty four hours and has racked up a million hits. It will be exciting to see how the film is received by the audience!
