After a long stint with commercial movies and mass masala flicks, Telugu films are turning artistic again. They are unleashing their true potential to grab awards and at least nominations in some cases.

It is happening again after 'Eega' last year and this time there will be two Telugu films doing the act. Writer-director Tanikella Bharani's 'Midhunam' and another writer-director JK Bharavai's 'Aadi Shankara' are actually going to get screened by Film Federation of India within some time. If one of these movies get appreciated by the whole panel, then they will find place for a race into Oscar nominations. Midhunam is all about the love and bonding between an aged couple, while Adi Shankara deals with the principles of Advaita and the way of living.
These two flicks are actually going to compete with other Indian movies, after which a screening committee will decide if one of them could be sent for an Osccar nomination. Every year, Film Federation of India actually picks up best movies to be sent for the Academy's screening list of movies for nomination into 'Best Foreign Film' category.
