Megastar Chiranjeevi never used to take remunerations for his movies as that will cost the producer a bomb. Rather he used to take the collections of particular area as his charge, and will be acting in the film without taking a penny. Some seniors of Tollywood stress that Chiru always took Nizam rights as his pay-pocket. However, there are no signs of any big hero following that model. Most of present day star heroes collect their full remuneration much before release of the movie now.
Cut to present day, some star heroes like Aamir Khan and Shahrukh are not charging remuneration but are calling themselves as producers of those flicks they are acting for free. Later they collect a share in the collections of movie. However, it is heroine Deepika Padukone who is said to be implementing Chiru's plan at the moment.
For her forthcoming art movie under Homi Adjania's (Cocktail fame) direction, the sexy lady is not charging a single penny, but is expected to take rights of overseas. Already Deepika scored three blockbusters this year and her movies collected 700+ crores collectively. Like Chiru who took rights of a region during his peaks as remuneration, even Deepika is doing the same thing now.
