Director SS Rajamouli’s next, Baahubali, starring south actors Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati is being shot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The epic, which is being filmed on a large scale, will also be dubbed, Malayalam, Hindi and several other languages. Now, news is that a crucial battle scene in the movie will require over 2,000 junior artistes alongside the lead actors.

The makers have asked the artistes and the lead actors to attend workshops for six months to prepare for the scene. “The cast has been undergoing rigorous training in sword fighting, arm-to-arm combat and horse riding under the guidance of experienced trainers from Vietnam. Peter Hein, who is the action choreographer for the film, is going to closely work with Rajamouli to shoot this particular sequence,” says a source close to the film.

Moreover, the VFX team of the film is also working hard on the battle sequence. “The scene requires elaborate planning and preparation. The production designers are in charge of concept art and pre-visualisation for designing the war machinery, weapons, battle formations etc,” adds the insider.

The scene will be shot for about two months, starting December. “The sheer number of people who are going to be part of this shoot is mind-boggling to say the least. But the team is well prepared to handle the challenge,” says the film’s spokesperson.
