Today when film collections have broken the Rs. 100 crore ceiling with box office collections crossing the Rs. 200 crore mark, it's a no brainer that the next big release needs to set the bar higher. Post the super success of 'Krrish 3' whose collections crossed Rs. 237 crores, the next big release 'Dhoom 3' has a daunting task ahead. However, to facilitate the earnings of the film, reports suggest that the makers and distributors of the film will be hiking the ticket prices.

Sources within the industry claim that the tickets can be expected to be priced as high as Rs 500 at regular multiplexes. Apart from this, 'Dhoom 3' being the first Hindi film to release in the much talked about IMAX format, the ticket prices for the same will come at an even higher cost.

A source from leading multiplex chain says, "As of now there has been no decision taken in terms of hiking the ticket prices for 'Dhoom 3', however there are chances that the rates may be hiked for the release that coincides with the holiday season of Christmas."

Commenting on the development Rafiq Gangjee from YRF says, "Nothing has been fixed as yet by the exhibitors". In the past we have seen films like Salman Khan's 'Ek Tha Tiger', Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' and 'Chennai Express', Ajay Devgn's 'Son Of Sardaar' and Aamir's 'Talaash' that released with higher ticket prices.
