While Gadar director Anil Sharma's film Singh Saab The Great has collected over Rs. 16 crore at the ticket windows over the weekend, Kareena-Imran's Gori Tere Pyaar Mein! trails much behind. The latter was also panned by critics for its many flaws.
"Gori Tere Pyaar Mein! received a lukewarm response at the box office. With its theme catering more to the urban audiences, the film remained restricted to only the city crowd. In its 1st weekend at the domestic box office, the film earned Rs. 10 crore." reports trade website Koimoi.com.
On the other hand, Sunny Deol's film not only got a great critical reception, it also amassed decent figures at the box office.
"Singh Saab The Great made Rs. 16.25 crores on its first weekend at the domestic box office. The movie has done pretty well compared to the other release this weekend Gori Tere Pyaar Mein!" says Koimoi.
However, Ram-leela continues to dominate the domestic market (with Rs. 81.90 cr. collections till Thursday) as the two recent releases try desperately to match up the pace.
