The Bollywood flick, despite facing a lot of competition from local movies, has not only survived in the battle of collections but also ready to get a never-before opening for an Aamir Khan movie.
Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 is releasing in above 4000 screens worldwide and in Tamil Nadu, it is releasing in above 150 screens, which itself is said to be a record. In the recent years, only handful of Hindi movies including Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express and Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, have crossed the 100-screen mark in Tamil Nadu.
The Bollywood Perfectionist's 3 Idiots was his last movie that had done well in Tamil Nadu. His Taare Zameen Par could only attract multiplex audience in Tamil Nadu. By any parameter, his latest Dhoom 3 is biggest release for Aamir Khan in the Tamil-speaking state. The main success for this will obviously goes to distributor Sathyam Cinemas for having a wider release in the state. It has managed to get more than 150 screens even though there were a few Tamil big releases this weekend.
