It looks like Imtiaz Ali's latest offering Highway is inspired from a La Tzu quote "A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving." The beautiful trailer and first look posters of this road film is out now and is creating quite a big ripple in B town right now. The film's trailer, brimming with freshness and the rawness of an European film, has Academy Award Winning music composer A.R.Rahman's enriching music too.

The film, as perceived from the trailer, explores Imtiaz Ali's favourite theme- The journey that makes you travel within yourself ; The journey of ultimate search to find yourself; to know who you are ! In trailer everything looks right and it seems that Highway will be best road movie India has ever produced.

The Trailer begins with Alia Bhatt's voice over " I don't want to go back to the place from where you kidnapped me" and the sequence cuts to a brief flashback where Alia is seen getting tortured. Then comes the Tao inspired line of Alia, " Where ever you are taking me, I don't want to reach there too, But this 'way', 'the road' looks so good, I wish it never ends".

This voice over merges with the scenes of Randeep Hooda, her kidnapper, driving the van while she looks on to the highway. Alia looks like a city slicker in the film and Randeep's costumes and make up reflects that he plays a rural kidnapper in the film. The film's dramatic hook is that the kidnapped girl is neither tensed nor want to escape from the kidnappers but is enjoying the journey as they are taking her to some secret destination.

Caption of the film makes a display on the screen as Alia looks on to the sky and it is "In Bondage, she found freedom" and Rahman lends his
inimitable trademark voice to express the beauty of freedom. In the trailer, Alia is also seen fearless in the company of the goons and even enjoying their company.

This is going to be a new cinematic take on life, Travel and complex nuances of human emotions. There was a Ram Gopal Varma produced movie, Darwaza Bandh Rakho, which was also about a girl who gets thrilled when kidnapped but the film was an out and out comedy. Imtiaz Ali's fifth film, Highway, looks like an epic that would give you a fresh perspective of life. Finally, we have our own Jack Kerouac !
