Just five minutes into the movie, and 'Jayammana Maga' makes you feel like you've chanced upon something different -with all the 'masala' ingredients coated in the chic avatar of a mega hit.
Though the story-line is simple, about good against evil (black magic), the elegant and pertinent storytelling by firsttime director Vikas backed by a powerful performance by Duniya Vijay under his home banner Duniya Talkies, makes the film worth the while. For all Vijay's fans, it is definitely a must-watch.
Desperate for a hit, the actor has finally stumbled upon his best since 'Duniya's success. His previous release 'Rajnikantha' failed despite a good performance, and the rumours of his married life running into rough weather did not help. 'Jayammana Maga' starring Dr Bharathi and Rangayana Raghu might run a bit low on the comedy element which seems to work well with the audience. But, then again, everything else including the perfect blend of music scored by Arjun Janya, makes up for it. Not recommended for those with a weak heart, and for children (thanks to it's adult context), it is a total entertainer. Kudos to the director for a fine-tuned movie with skillfull editing and a notable screenplay. It won't be a surprise if Duniya Vijay teams up with Vikas again in the near future.
