Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma proved yet again that he’s not a believer of traditional ceremonies. At his daughter Revathy’s wedding on Thursday night, he was spotted dressed casually in his trademark jeans and T-shirt. To the guests’ surprise, RGV stayed away from the rituals. “Yes, it was a big disappointment for many who wanted to see RGV dressed in a sherwani. But even though he was wearing jeans and a T-shirt, all eyes were on him at the ceremony,” reveals a celebrity guest at Revathy and Pranav’s wedding, held at a star hotel in Hyderabad.
Another guest shares, “The dinner spread was large and varied with strictly vegetarian food and no alcohol, as the groom belongs to a Brahmin family. The wedding rituals were performed by the bride’s maternal grandparents. RGV turned into just a spectator of the ceremony.”
RGV’s friends from the film world graced the occasion, including Puri Jagannadh, Rana Daggubati, Naga Chaitanya, Charmi, Ravi Teja, Lakshmi Manchu, JD Chekravarthy, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Uttej, also present were writers Sirasri, Yandamuri Veerendranath, Kona Venkat, and B.V.S. Ravi.
The high-profile guest list also featured politicians Lagadapati Rajagopal, Revanth Reddy and Jayasudha, along with industrialists like T. Subbarami Reddy and B. Ramalinga Raju (of Satyam ‘fame’).
