Actress-turned-Politician Roja never minces her words and she is also the most straight-forward person. This kind of attitude has irked many people and at times even landed her in trouble, but nothing changed her over the years.
To a question if she is following the path of Vijayashanti right from films to politics, Roja shot back,"Vijayashanti has become an MP so easily. Even, Jayasudha became an MLA despite lacking knowledge about politics. That happened because their party president's KCR and YSR had stood behind them. I haven't been able to do that because TDP leadership has backstabbed me by offering the constituencies I was supposed to contest to the people who have indulged in mud-slinging activities against the party".
When asked why did she choose to enter politics knowing even a legend like NTR couldn't escape criticism, Roja opined,"Yes, that's true! People would respect us a lot as actors even though we act in the films by taking money. In Politics, we invest our money and time to make heir lives better. Sadly, they treat us in a disrespectful manner here".
Roja surely raised a valid point but an undeniable fact is that one can't be win the acceptance from everyone when he/she is in the political arena.
