When it comes to this director, it is always a shock for producers as they are always burdened by his costly set-design requirements. Though they haven't yielded much for film's success, Gunasekhar makes sure that he burns pockets mostly on building these settings.
From Chiranjeevi's Chudalanivundi apartment set to Mahesh's Okkadu Charminar set, Gunasekhar made decent outputs out of them. But he failed to cash on these settings for Arjun, Sainikudu and Varudu. Many say that even though his stories don't need such set backdrops, he is erecting these pieces to create hype that haven't worked well anyway. Right now Gunasekhar is coming up with Rudramadevi under his own production, but he hasn't dodged back from the idea of costly sets. He is said to be erecting an island, Diviseema, setting along with a tunnel setting and an old village. He will be shooting some key fighting sequences using these settings featuring Anushka and Rana.
For all his earlier films, settings are not required but for Rudramadevi he needs to build them if he wants to bring authentic feeling of sensibility. But still, sets from Gunasekhar means a shock to many, so let us see how they are going to be when the movie actually hits screens.
