Mahesh Babu, who had earlier set records with his films 'Pokiri' and 'Dookudu', has set a new record.
Even while his upcoming film 'One Nenokkadine' is in the shooting phase, the makers have sold the satellite rights of the film — the Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions — for a record price.
A source says, “Sun Network has bought the satellite rights of Rs 12.5 crore. Along with satellite rights of Telugu, the deal includes the rights of Tamil and Malayalam versions as well, which is a first for a Telugu star’s film.”
“Of course, it’s Mahesh’s charisma that seems to have worked for the producers to get the fancy price. His recent films 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' and 'Dookudu' have done exceptionally well at the box office.
“Of late, Telugu films have raised the bar. Even the satellite rights of Pawan Kalyan’s 'Attarintiki Daaredi' (the Telugu version alone) was sold to MAA network for Rs 8.5 to Rs 10 crore.”
One of the producers, Ram Achanta, says, “As of now we can’t disclose the figures but the satellite rights have been sold for a fancy price. This is, perhaps the first time the deal included the Tamil and Malayalam versions.
