'Attarintiki Daredi' is like 'Puttinti Pattu Cheera'

There were some specialized directors like Muthyala Subbaiah, Kodi Ramakrishna, Boyina Subbarao etc who caught the pulse of female audience or more specifically family ladies or house wives. They could easily pull this section of public to theatres thus generating huge revenues for their movies in metro or B, C class centers.

Best example I remember is ‘Puttinti Pattu Cheera’ movie of Yamuna directed by Boyina Subbarao which rocked in terms of commercial performance in B & C class towns. 75 to 80 per cent of screens for this movie were used to fill only with ladies during morning and matinee shows.

One of our close representatives of ‘atharintiki daaredi’ has reported a striking similarity. They say; 70 per cent of the tickets cutting at several of the ‘AD’ theatres belonged to only lady audience. This was the success secret of ‘PPP’ and now ‘AD.’
