'Potugadu', the Manchu Manoj starrer which was released on the 14th September amidst the rough weathers of Andhra Pradesh state on the whole and Telugu film industry in particular has made some noise at the Box Office and is still running well in some theaters. Backed up by good dongs, this film has stood out to be the only film that could collect some cash from the theaters.
The movie is the remake of Kannada film 'Govindaya Namaha' and Pawan Wadeyar, the director of the original version also directed the Telugu film which was produced by Lagadapati Sreedhar who is famous for his backing up the project till the end.
Buoyed by the success of the film in Telugu, Lagadapati Sreedhar is planning to make the film in Tamil as well. It was learnt that Tamil star Simbu has already seen the film and green signaled the project.
Disclosing the news to the media Sreedhar said 'Simbu promised me to do the Tamil version and Cheran, the director of 'Autograph' will direct this film. Santanam will play a key role in the film too. Will post the details soon'.
It was heard that the unit is quite kicked up coz a Telugu film is being remade into Tamil for a rare occurrence. It will be interesting to see if more and more Telugu producers will try and test the Tamil waters for a change.
