Director Ram Gopal Varma, who has several action thrillers in Hindi and Telugu to his credit, is in news for appreciating Kannada movie ‘Edegarike’.
After watching the film at Mumbai Women International Film Festival (MWIFF), the filmmaker took to Twitter to appreciate Sumana’s efforts.
“Hi Sumana this is Ram gopal varma from Mumbai..I just saw your film and am very impressed, it was a pleasant surprise to me that such a film can be made in that market..congrats!” his tweet read.
Elated with Ram’s tweet, Sumana Kittur was quick to reply. “The moment I saw your msg,my heart skipped a beat & I had tears in my eyes.Thank u for your kindness sir,I’m a huge fan of yours!” her tweet read.
Edegarike was the only Indian film to be selected in the feature film category, which included several films directed by women. Other films, selected under this section were from US, France and Spain
